Ryuji Williams

Biography

Ryuji Williams was born in OKinawa, Japan in July 1989. He began his martial arts training in 1983 under the tutelage of Grand Master Fusei Kise in Okinawa and and was awarded his Black Belt in 1999 by Grand Master Kise while living in Okinawa. He was promoted to Nidan in 2003 and subsequently awarded his Sandan in July 2007. He earned his Yondan in 2010 from Nitta Seifuju, Hanshi.

He has competed in various tournaments all over the Southestern USA as well as Okinawa, Japan since the age of 4 years old. He was inducted into the World Karate Union Hall of Fame in 2003 as the Regional Competitor of the Year, the UMAA Hall of Fame as Regional Fighter of the Year in 2007 and in 2009 as Instructor of the Year..

He currently trains under Seifuku Nitta, Hanshi, Larry Isaac, Hanshi and Frank Williams, Kyoshi. He icurrently serves as the Program Director for Premier Martial Arts Havelock. where he teaches the art of Shorin Ryu Karate and Okinawan Kobudo.

He serves the UMAA as our Executive Secretary responsible for all correspondence, promotion and membership certificates as well as other administrative assignments. He travels extensively in support of his father, Frank Williams, Kyoshi and assists in the training of our UMAA Members all over the world.
