Mario Roehl
Mario Roehl was born on 27 June 1966 in West-Berlin,
Germany. In 1986 he became a Police Officer in the German Federal
Police. In 1992 Mr. Roehl passed the Federal Police Special Forces
Training and joined the Embassy Protection Squad.
He was posted from 1993 till 1994 in Belgrade/Yugoslavia as a Bodyguard
to the Ambassador and Security-Officer for the Embassy during the
Yugoslavian Civilan War. He was later stationed from 1997 –
1998 in Lagos/Nigeria.
In 2002 he passes the Instructors-Training Course for Police Anti-Terror-Fights
(ATF) and was awarded his Instructors licence. Mr. Roehl was also
a member of the Protection-Team for the Federal Chancellor of Germany
from 2003 till 2007. He presently serving in the Headquarter of the
German Federal Police in Berlin.
Mr. Roehl began his martial arts training in the summer of 1975 in
the age of 9 Years with Judo. He began his study of Karate in 1979
in the age of 13 and was self taught via books and friends until finding
a formal school in wich to train in 1982. He first practised Shotokan
Karate from 1982 – 1989 and recived the rank of Shodan before
venturing out to train in various styles like Kun Tai Ko-Karate, Kyukushinkai-Karate,
Kickboxing and Ju-Jutsu.
In 1995 he began training in Shorin-Ryu Seibukan. He was also interested
in other Shorin-Ryu Styles and studied Matsubayashi-Ryu as well as
Kobayashi-Ryu and Higa-Ryu Karate for a while.
He and his wife Silvia have been teaching at their own Dojo in Berlin
since 2006. They continue to teach Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate, but
there is also an influence from the Shaolin Temple Germany in Berlin
where they train together with the Shaolin-Monks once per week.
Mr. Roehl and his wife are private students of Grandmaster Shi Yong
Chuan, Abbot of the Shaolin Temple Germany and licensed to spread
the Art of Shaolin by the Venerable Grandmaster Shi Yong Xin, Abbot
of the Shaolin Temple Henan/China.
